This device is a wireless/4 port hardwired router that will let you mix both wireless and wired networked computers. I have not tried the wireless part with BeOS yet as the only wireless card I have is an external USB device which is sitting on my Windows box.
I hooked up the Cat5 cable from my Be machine to the router and then clicked the DHCP button in the network configuration. It worked right out of the box, something I was never able to do with my Linksys router. With it I had to uncheck DHCP and manually enter all of the settings to get Be to connect. I would have rated the device higher, but I am not able to test the wireless capabilities at this time. rating: 8 |
