I physically installed this device (switches set for IRQ 5 and port 3), then added it to the list of modems in the /beos/etc/modem.ppp file, taking care to match the format of the existing entries exactly. While there,
I also added the initialization string 'AT&F&C1&D2 W2 M0' (the default string from the Zoltrix website at www.zoltrix.com, plus M0 to silence the speaker). Next go to preferences/devices, and add it as a 'jumpered device'. Finally, go to preferences/dialup networking/modem and select it from the list of available modems.
Thus far, it works perfectly, even with no driver. At 33.6 kpbs, this is no longer the fastest modem in the world but, as far as I can tell, perfectly compatible with BeOS, and works well in Windows also, so I'm giving it a 10. I also commend Zoltrix for their very comprehensive website, with lots of technical information on this and other modems which they have made, as well as very instructional pages which apply to modem setup in general.
