I bought this drive, plugged it in, booted up into BeOS, and made my first burn perfectly, using CDBurner, with NO hassles whatsoever.
This drive is rock solid.
I will note however that using CD Burner takes up quite a bit of cpu load, so if you are burning from a 5400rpm drive, I would suggest using a 7200rpm drive, as sometimes the drives are not -quite- fast enough to fill the 12x speed of the burner.
That is the only problem I have run into, but not necessarily due to the AOpen drive at all...
