I have a genuine NE-2000 from 1990 (10base2 and AUI only) which is purely jumper controlled, and providing the settings are correctly adjusted, this card works perfectly. Yay for non-PnP cards! Of course, it's 16 bit ISA, with no special DMA modes or anything fancy, and it's a 10Mbps card, so it's about as slow as you can get! However, this isn't a card for performance -- it's a VERY well supported card, that also gets pretty hot and takes up a great deal of case space! However, perforamnce is quite usable. No trouble with BeOS observed. Ideal card where interoperability with a large number of OSs is required and performance isn't a major concern. rating: 10 |
