It was cheap ($15) and intended for my girlfriends Windows box. I installed BeOS PE, and it wouldn't detect the NIC, an I couldn't find any drivers for it. But in Windows, the NIC seems to work fine. rating: 6 |

The SMC1211TX chipset is recognized by BeOS 5.03 as a Realtek 8139 PCI card. You can either update BeOS 5.0 to 5.03 or download the BeOS driver that is contained in the full driver package from the SMC website. A fast and stable card. rating: 10 |

Okay...
I tested this ,card in my BP6, and it worked in a bus mastering slot. I checked the docs on my girlfriends AZ11e, and found out, it doesn't have any bus mastering slots.
So it seems that the BeOS driver will work only when the SMC-1211TX has bus mastering. So keep that in mind when picking one up. rating: 6 |

Went to SMC/Realtek sight. Realtek has driver for 8129. So this info seems to be dated. I got the driver off bebits Realtek 8139. rating: |
