There are reports that the later Lite-On burner works great with BeOs, including on this site. This model does not work as a burner at all, regardless of which software package one uses (incl. CDR manager, Melt, etc). It works as a CD Rom fine, but not as a burner. There is supposedly a firmware upgrade (see http://www.cdrinfo.com/tips/liteon_oc.shtml) which can convert your LTR 0841 to an LTR 12101B (32x,12x,10x)but I haven't try that yet. Also, Lite-On doesn't support Windows 2000 so if you dual boot forgot Lite-Ons.

try the firmware update works great and for win2000 before the update it worked great in win2000 and after the firmware update it works great in Beos and win2000.
