Zoom 56K dualmode external modem

This is a V.90 modem, model 2949L and hooks up via serial cable (not included). Zoom now makes a V.92 model, but not sure if it is compatible with BeOS. |

After nearly tearing my hair out trying to get the Actiontec PCI call waiting modem, and even the identical Zoom 56K dualmode internal ISA (jumpered) model, I broke down and spent the extra money for an external model. I created a new custom modem in DUN, using an init string of ATM1, and it worked right off the bat! rating: 10 |

Well worth the extra cash for an external. It even made my windows dial up somewhat stable. rating: 10 |
