TUNETRACKER SYSTEM IN ACTION - Using TuneTracker Command Center™

Setting up BWeatherTT for your Weather Region

BWeatherTT is the little utility that runs every ten minutes on Command Center installations, to retrieve the latest weather conditions, for display in Command Center's "WeatherPad", and forecast, for display in Command Center's scrolling text box.

Setting it up to retrieve information for your location is a one-time task, and it takes just a minute.

  1.   Run the program BWeatherTT, found in on your hard drive at /boot/apps/BWeatherTT/ .
  2.   Right-click on the small window that appears, and choose Preferences.
  3.   Choose your country, then your state, then the city nearest you.
  4.   Uncheck "Metric" if you want readings in Farenheit. Leave it checked if you want Celcius temperature readings
  5.   Make sure there's a checkmark next to "Detailed Forecast"
  6.   Click Save
  7.   You can now close the program. The auto-retrievals should now get information for your selected city.

The latest conditions retrieved by BWeatherTT will auto-display in Command Center's WeatherPad. You can get the forecast by clicking on the conditions in the WeatherPad, which causes the forecast to display in the scrolling text box.

BWeatherTT retrieves its information from NOAA's U.S.-based National Weather Service. Conditions data is provided for worldwide locations, though forecast data is available for U.S. locations-only.

No Forecast Available For Your Area?

If you discover there is no retrievable forecast for your region, you can go online and get it from one of a variety of Internet resources using one of the included BeOS web browsers. Once you find one in a text format you like, you can bookmark it, and routinely retrieve it. Just copy and paste it into a text file that can be displayed using one of Command Center's ButtonPad or MyShow buttons. After once having created the text file and assigned the file to a button, it can be quickly updated with additional forecasts by just right-clicking on the button and choosing "Edit Text."
