Creating a Master Log
A master log is nothing more than a text file containing a bunch of format clock hours that have been combined to make a whole day's worth of programming. Every hour can be just the same if you like, or you can use a word processor and copy/paste to mix and match various format clock hours to suit your programming needs, making sure that the start of each hour is marked with its own "# Hour" statement. We describe the procedure below, and we also suggest you take a look at the sample master log provided in the /boot/apps/TuneTracker System/Templates folder.
Each format clock hour in the master log MUST begin with an "# Hour" statement, which marks the start of that hour. The first hour of the day (midnight to 1 AM) is called "# Hour 0," the second hour (1 AM-2 AM) is called "# Hour 1," etc. They must be in proper sequence, and obviously, they must accurately reflect the hours they represent. Make sure you express the syntax of the "# Hour" statement correctly (some examples), including putting a space after the pound "#" sign. Upper and lower case do not matter for commands, so "# hour" will work too.
If every broadcast day contains the same basic elements, you only need to create one master log, which you'll use over and over again in TuneStacker to create each day's program log. If you have different programming from one day to the next, run special programming days, have different programming on the weekends, do unusual things during holidays, etc., you need to create a master log for each unique programming day. Save your finished master logs wherever you like (we recommend /Desktop/Station/Logs/MasterLogs), using any naming convention that will help you remember what they contain.
USING "MAKE MY DAY"
If you have TuneTracker 2 or higher, you can speed up the process of master log creation. Just right-click on a format clock, choose Open With, and specify "MakeMyDay." MakeMyDay will instantly build a whole day's master log and auto-number your "# Hour" statements for you.
