SETUP - Preparing Format Clocks
Pre-Designed Format Clock Template
While we encourage everyone to use their creativity to come up with their own, unique radio formats, we include a sample format clock to demonstrate ways of using our system to achieve certain desired results. This clock can be used "as-is," or modified to suit your needs. It's a great way to quickly learn the commands required to create whatever kind of radio station you like.
Remember that TuneTracker format clocks, master logs, and program logs are plain text*, and can be edited in any BeOS word processor, making it a simple matter to cut-and-paste, search-and-replace, and combine individual hours in any order, to create full-day master logs you can save and use over and over in TuneStacker to generate your daily program logs.
You will find the sample format clock in the following location in your installation on your hard drive.
/boot/apps/TuneTracker System/Templates
We have also provided a printable format clock face in PDF format in two styles, with radial spokes and spokeless (we like using the spokeless one). By printing out the blank forms we've provided, you have a great worksheet. Pencil-in your own pie-slice style format clock layouts, and even color code the pie slices with highlighers or markers to make them easier to view. Here's an example of a filled-in format clock page, just pencilled-in, for your reference.
* BeOS text files follow the UNIX standard, meaning they do not have carriage returns as Windows text files do. If you want to edit them in Windows, we recommend you use JGSoft's EditPad Lite, an excellent free word processor that lets you edit text files in UNIX format.
