TimeTracker is a nimble, highly-configurable background recording utility that allows you to catch and record live audio feeds for broadcast at a later time, while TuneTracker™ is busy broadcasting other programming. Also known as a "time-shift," "timed record," or "scheduled record" program, TimeTracker can record any audio source you plug into your sound card's line input.

If you have more than one sound card, you can wire-up multiple sources, allowing you to record from more than one input. Or, if you have one of our ChannelCaster or ToneTracker packages, TimeTracker's options let you can also record from any input or output on your switcher.

The TimeTracker interface gives you a high level of flexibility. You can schedule a single recording event, or as many as you like, and TimeTracker will remember them all. You can schedule single-shot recordings to grab a one-time event such as a music special, or set up a "repeat forever" event to catch routine items fed hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, even yearly.

Here are some examples of recording events you can schedule into TimeTracker:
  • A daily three-minute closed circuit alert feed from a news network
  • A weekly one-hour countdown show, fed on Saturday nights
  • Hourly five-minute newscasts
  • A one-time two-hour concert broadcast
  • An actuality feed at 5:12 a.m. every Wednesday
  • Sunday morning's worship service
Of particular interest is TimeTracker's ability to record to a variety of audio formats, including WAV, AIFF, or depending on the installation of BeOS you have, even real-time MP3. You can set TimeTracker to use the same audio format for all your recordings, or choose different audio formats for different recording events. Record one in full WAV format, another in ADPCM (1/4th the size), perhaps another in real-time MP3 (1/10th the size).

TimeTracker is easy to configure and use. Click to learn how to set up your background recordings.
