TUNETRACKER SYSTEM IN ACTION - TUNETRACKER BASIC
TuneTracker Basic Program Log Queue
The Program Log Queue (pronounced like the letter "q") displays a list of all the program logs you have dragged into that window pane. The Program Log Queue x-box can be used to display or hide the contents of the program log queue, giving you either a dual view of the Program Log Queue pane and the Active Program Log pane, or a significantly larger view of just the Active Program Log pane.
Entries in the queue may be removed from the list with the Del button. Double-clicking on a program log in the queue loads it into TuneTracker for playback. When more than one log is listed in the queue, the active log will display in red and the next-to-play log will display in blue.
As you add and remove program logs, TuneTracker will reload (reparse) the current day's log if necessary. This will occur if you remove either the current day's active program log (the one marked in red) or the next day's log (marked in blue) from the program log queue. We call it "AutoParsing." Generally this happens very quickly, in only a few seconds.
If you dislike having to wait while TuneTracker compensates for your changes as you edit the program log queue, you can turn off the "AutoParse" feature in the Look and Feel section of TuneTracker Preferences. However, note that with AutoParse turned off, the Active Program Log list will go blank if you remove either the current or next-day's log from the queue. This is no cause for alarm, and just means that when you're done editing, you'll need to double-click on the log you want to make active. Doing so will cause it to load into the Active Program Log window pane. After doing so, be certain to double-check to assure TuneTracker is pointed at the event you prefer it to play next. The next-to-play event is the one marked in blue. You can change the item that's next to play by double-clicking on the item of your choice.
You can add logs to the queue by browsing with the Add button or by dragging-and-dropping log files into the queue pane. If you want to select a group of files to drag to the queue, and you want them to appear in the queue in a particular order, shift-click (on some installations, use ALT-click) on the files in the order in which you wish for them to appear, and then drag them from your folder to the queue.
You can preload as many program logs as you like. TuneTracker will play through the entire list of program logs in the queue until it gets to the end of the list, then will come to a stop. The "Repeat" x box (visible only when the Program Log Queue pane is visible) will cause TuneTracker to rerun the list when it reaches the end, for "Infinite Walkaway" capability. This can be used to repeat the entire contents of the queue list; as few as one log, or as many as you like!
When you're done loading program logs into the queue, select one of them for broadcast by double-clicking it, or by highlighting it and pressing Enter. TuneTracker will load it into memory and display its contents in the Active Program Log pane (see below). Note that it is normal for TuneTracker to stop responding to mouse-clicks while it is loading or reloading a program log into the Active Program Log register.
