Records audio from a microphone, audio interface, line-in source, or the audio output of another app. Set it up with a schedule and Fetchit! makes a clean recording every time automatically.
| Field | What to put here |
|---|---|
| Device | Which audio source to record from. Open the popup to see all available inputs, including App Audio sources for capturing other apps' output. |
| Duration | How long to record — hours, minutes, and seconds. |
| Output Filename | What to call the file. Don't include an extension — Fetchit! adds it. Date codes are supported. |
| Format | WAV / AIFF — Uncompressed, highest quality. FLAC — Lossless compression. MP3 — Compressed, smaller files. |
| Input Gain | Software gain from −20 to +20 dB. 0 dB is unity. Watch the VU meter. |
| Bitrate / Sample Rate / Channels / VBR | (MP3 only) Quality settings for the compressed output. |
Open the Device popup to see App Audio sources — labeled App Audio: [App Name]. The app needs to be running and producing audio to appear.
Recording app audio requires the Screen Recording permission. macOS will ask once — grant it and Fetchit! remembers.
Tip: Record a little longer than needed. The Trim Silence step can clean up the tail automatically.
