Trim Silence

Automatically removes dead air from the beginning and end of audio files. Especially useful after a Record Live Audio step where you've recorded a bit of buffer time.

Fields

FieldWhat to put here
Silence ThresholdLevel in dB below which Fetchit! considers audio to be silence. −40 dB is a good starting point. Lower = more aggressive trimming. Higher = less aggressive.

This step only trims the head and tail — audio in the middle of the file is left alone.

💡

Tip: If it's cutting into content it shouldn't, raise the threshold slightly. If it's not trimming enough, lower it.
