TuneTracker™ QuickTip
Make TT Anywhere more secure

If you use our TT Anywhere remote administration software to work on TuneTracker from another office, home, or the road, you know how handy it can be! Now, make it more secure.

Fact is, there are "trollers" out there who hunt for VNC connections on the Internet, and they're generally searching for 5900, the default port used by TT Anywhere and similar VNC clients. They're not likely to get in, because TT Anywhere is password-protected, but it's still an annoyance to see unwanted connection attempts in your TT Anywhere status screen. The solution is so simple. Just change the port you're using.
  1. On the TT Anywhere screen, type the following in the "Advanced Extras" text box:

    -Portnumber 5904

  2. Click Stop, then click Start. Your status screen will now say "Listening on 5904." You can use a different number in the 590 series like 5907 or 5909 if you like.

  3. Go into your router, and change port forwarding settings to the new number. If you're not sure how to do that, contact an IT professional.
