TuneTracker™ QuickTip

Recording Internet Streams for Rebroadcast

Ever wanted to capture an Internet audio stream for broadcast later? It takes a little command-line saavy to work with it, but if you're not afraid to edit a batch script, you should have no trouble using this feature. It lets you launch a stream-ripping task via AutoCast's Run command, and later stop the recording using a second Run command.

Download and unzip this file under Haiku®:

Then open the resultant folder and follow the instructions you will find in it. It'll tell you everything you need to know.

Note that when recording streams, their "buffered" nature means you'll want to start recording a little early, run a little extra long, and edit the file in a wav editor before broadcasting it. Be sure also, of course, that you have the permission of the broadcaster of the streaming contents you intend to record!
